Summary: Pierce the Veil has always been known for their originality and amazing talent. Collide With the Sky is definitely a defender of that statement. The album is improvement on past albums, so in some songs you may hear more of a “A Flair for the Dramatic” or “Selfish Machines”, or even a mixture. They definitely aren’t dwelling on the past though, many songs have totally new sounds, showing the improvement they’ve made, and showing the reason why and how they’ve gotten so far in the music industry. Mike did outstanding with the drumming on this album, he showed his skill in many songs, not letting anyone down from the calm soft sang parts, to the powerful breakdowns. Vic showed his true lyrical skills in Collide With the Sky, with the analogies, metaphors, imagery he brings to the table. A song where these traits standout would be “Hell Above”. This album is structurally sound overall, It’s a fresh album that’s definitely going to influence new bands instrumentally and vocally. Kellin Quinn is featured on “King for a Day” and he does such a helpful job of benefitting the sound of that song, he doesn’t even sound like the Sleeping With Sirens Kellin Quinn, he sounds re-invented in this particular track. Collide With the Sky is definitely going to be a great album to hear live, with all the songs that can get you to sing along, have special meaning to you, or just something to just outright enjoy, this album is definitely worth listening to and buying.

In Short: Pierce the Veil is building their momentum and improving as they all mature. This album is a step in the right direction to continue their push for mainstream success.
